Baramulla 06 May (KNZ):In a strong crackdown on illegal mining, District Mineral Officer (DMO) Baramulla, Er. Zulfikar Mohd Shafi, who is also Executive Magistrate Baramulla, led a surprise night raid in the Jahama–Delina area, resulting in the seizure of seven vehicles involved in unauthorized extraction.

The operation was carried out under his supervision along with Area Incharge Tariq Abdullah and his team, with active support from the DO Delina. Acting on specific inputs, the team conducted raids at multiple locations and acted swiftly against violators.

Speaking on the action, Er. Zulfikar Mohd Shafi reiterated the department’s firm resolve to eliminate illegal mining from the district. He stated that there will be zero tolerance for such unlawful activities and emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against offenders.

He further assured that the department is committed to ensuring that only legally authorized mining operations are carried out in accordance with rules and environmental norms.

Further investigation into the seized vehicles is underway, and more such drives are expected in the coming days.KNZ
