Srinagar, July 21 (KS):- Moulana Abdul Qayoom Mattoo, the senior-most separatist leader of the Chenab Valley, along with dozens of his supporters, joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in a significant political move.
The joining ceremony as per news agency Kashmir Scroll was attended by former legislator Firdous Tak, who welcomed Mattoo and his supporters into the party fold.
During the event, Moulana Abdul Qayoom Mattoo emphasized the importance of standing against atrocities, regardless of religious affiliations.
He highlighted the need for unity and solidarity in the face of oppression and called for collective efforts to address injustices in the region.
Mattoo’s decision to join the PDP reflects a shift in his political stance, aiming to contribute to the mainstream political process and advocate for the rights and concerns of the people.
Former legislator Firdous Tak expressed his gratitude for Mattoo’s decision to join the PDP, acknowledging the significance of his support in strengthening the party’s base in the Chenab Valley.
