Mumbai, Sep 25: Actor Urmila Matondkar has filed for divorce from her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir after eight years of marriage.
A source close to the couple confirmed to Indian Express, that the actor filed for divorce in Bandra, Mumbai. It is also being reported that the separation isn’t mutual, and that the filing happened four months ago. According to The Times of India, the 50-year-old actor took the decision after careful consideration. A source from a Mumbai court told the publication that the reason for the separation isn’t yet known. Urmila follows a total of 150 people on Instagram, however, Mohsin is not one of them. The actor, however, hasn’t removed pictures with Mohsin. The last post that featured the couple together was on Eid, 2023. Sharing a photo with Mohsin, Urmila wrote, “May all prayers for Peace and Harmony be accepted..Love, Kindness n Compassion prevail!”
In the same year, she had shared a birthday post for her husband, which read: “OMG… Goodness..Kind heart..Generosity of Soul..Kindred Spirit never looked better than this. Happy Birthday hubby dear.”
She had also shared a post to mark their seventh anniversary. She captioned her post, “Then n now.. 7 years on… And no… not counting as too busy living it up. Busy celebrating life, love, goodness, kindness n blessings.”
Urmila Matondkar married Mohsin, a Kashmiri businessman and model, in an intimate wedding in 2016, attended by their close friends and family. According to reports, Urmila and Mohsin met through mutual friend and celebrity designer Manish Malhotra. They are yet to respond to the development. Urmila is known for films like Dillagi, Khoobsurat, Om Jai Jagdish, and Judai, among others.–(The Indian Express)
