Kargil, Dec 20: As part of the ongoing Good Governance Week, the Handloom Development Department Kargil organized an awareness camp today at Weaving Center Kargil to highlight various activities and schemes of the department.
During the event Superintendent of the Weaving Center Kargil, other officials, trainees, and artisans were present.
Addressing the gathering, the Superintendent and officials detailed several initiatives aimed at empowering local artisans, such as the Weaver Mudra Scheme, Weaver Cards, and Artisan Cards. They emphasized the importance of these schemes in supporting and promoting traditional handloom activities.
The participants were also informed about opportunities provided by expos and exhibitions, including those held at Delhi Haat and other platforms organized by the Industries and Commerce Department. They were encouraged to actively participate in these events to showcase their skills and products.
The officials highlighted the annual exhibitions organized by the department, stressing the importance of such platforms in promoting local craftsmanship and making them self-reliance.
