Ganderbal, Sep 9(KNZ/TMJ): Employees associated with the National Health Mission (NHM) in Ganderbal have reiterated their demand for “equal work, equal pay”, besides seeking regularisation, job security and social security benefits for the workforce.

A banner displayed by the NHM Employees Association, Ganderbal, highlighted several key demands, including formulation of a clear job policy, pay revision, regularisation of eligible staff, retirement benefits and long-term job security.

The employees have also called for improved health and safety measures at workplaces, insurance coverage, mental health support and a transparent, merit-based recruitment process for vacant posts.

The association stressed that contractual employment should not result in unequal treatment, with its campaign slogan stating that “contract doesn’t mean second class.”

The employees have urged the authorities to recognise their contribution to the healthcare system and take concrete steps towards securing their future.

The demands come amid continued calls from NHM employees for better service conditions and parity in remuneration with employees performing similar duties.

“Our work keeps healthcare alive,” the association said, underlining the role of NHM personnel in maintaining healthcare services across Jammu and Kashmir.(KNZ/TMJ)
