DC Ganderbal visits Baltal Base Camp, reviews preparations for SANJY 2025

DC directs for timely completion of Yatra related works

GANDERBAL, APRIL 26: In a focused drive to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025 via the Baltal route, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today undertook an extensive visit to Baltal to take firsthand assessment of the ongoing preparations.

The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Syed Fahim Bihaqi, ASP Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, ARTO, ACP, SDPO Kangan, and other district officers.

During the on-site review, a detailed discussion was held on the progress of works being executed by various departments including Jal Shakti, KPDCL, Irrigation & Flood Control, Rural Development Department and others.

The DC instructed SDM Kangan to prepare a comprehensive plan marking the locations of all establishments ensuring systematic arrangements and avoiding operational bottlenecks.

Detailed discussions were held regarding the setting up of frisking points, parking arrangements, and provision of RFID counters to streamline the movement and registration process for pilgrims.

Emphasizing swift action, the DC called for expediting critical works including the repair of damaged water pipelines, power cabling, toilet facilities, fencing of the base camp, flood protection measures, and development of parking area.

Beacon authorities were also directed to ensure timely snow clearance and maintenance work along the yatra track for the smooth passage of pilgrims.

While interacting with the officers, the DC reiterated the district administration’s firm commitment to providing a seamless, safe, and well-facilitated pilgrimage experience to all devotees undertaking the holy yatra via the Baltal axis.

The DC urged all departments to work in coordination and complete their assigned tasks within deadlines to ensure successful conduct of SANJY-2025.

BLOs remained available at polling stations to guide citizens through the prescribed electoral registration formalities. Assistance was provided regarding Form 6, Form 7 and Form 8. Citizens were also guided on accessing digital services through the Voter Helpline App.  During the drive, grievances and queries raised by electors were taken up by the election functionaries concerned for redressal and appropriate action. Contact numbers of officials concerned were also shared with the public to facilitate direct communication and enable citizens to seek assistance regarding their electoral particulars and enrolment-related matters. The Election Department reiterated that the election machinery across Jammu and Kashmir remains available round-the-clock to assist the public, address grievances and provide guidance on voter enrolment and other electoral matters.
