Anantnag Police Attaches 08 Vehicles Worth ₹20 Lakh Under NDPS Act

Anantnag, May 14 (KNC): Continuing its intensified crackdown against drug trafficking and narcotics networks, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag has attached eight vehicles worth nearly ₹20 lakh under the provisions of Section 68-E of the NDPS Act.

 

Police said the action was carried out by Police Station Anantnag as part of its ongoing campaign to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug peddlers and curb the menace of narcotics in the district.

 

The attached vehicles include two Magic vehicles, one passenger auto-rickshaw, one WagonR car, one Bolero vehicle and three motorcycles. During investigation, these vehicles were identified as assets either acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking or used in connection with illegal narcotics activities.

 

Officials said the total market value of the attached property is estimated at around ₹20 lakh.

 

Anantnag Police stated that the drive against narcotics will continue with full force and warned individuals involved in drug peddling that strict legal action, including attachment of illegally acquired properties, will be taken against them.

 

Police reiterated its commitment to making Anantnag a drug-free district and urged the public to cooperate in the fight against the drug menace.(KNC)
