Ganderbal Police Apprehends Drug Peddler, Recovers Heroin and Charas

Ganderbal, May 30: Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir campaign, Ganderbal Police apprehended an alleged drug peddler and recovered contraband substances during a routine naka checking operation in the Safapora area of the district.

 

 

According to police, a naka was established by Police Station Safapora at Puttarmulla Safapora near Daller Mode, Manasbal. During checking, a suspicious individual attempted to flee after noticing the police party. However, alert personnel acted swiftly and apprehended him on the spot.

 

 

The accused has been identified as Salim Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Kondbal Safapora.

 

 

During his personal search, police recovered approximately 4 grams of heroin-like substance and 20 grams of charas-like substance from his possession.

 

 

In this regard, FIR No. 11/2026 has been registered at Police Station Safapora under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and further investigation has been initiated.

 

 

 

Police reiterated their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and appealed to the public to assist law enforcement agencies by sharing information regarding drug-related activities in their localities.
