Nasha-Mukt J&K Abhiyan;Police Destroy Illicit Poppy Cultivation In Ganderbal; Case Registered

 

Ganderbal May 29:Continuing its crackdown against drug-related activities, police in Ganderbal detected and destroyed an illicit Poppy Cultivation during routine patrolling in village Wandhama, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Lar.

During the operation, a patch of land was found cultivated with poppy straw-like plants. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the land was in possession of Muzaffar Ahmad Koul son of Abdul Gaffar Koul resident of Wandhama, who had allegedly cultivated the Contraband Crop.

Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 16/2026, under relevant sections of the NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Lar, and further investigation is underway.

Police reiterates its commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs and urges the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to illegal activities.
