Ganderbal, June 11: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Ganderbal Police, in coordination with the Excise Department Ganderbal, carried out a comprehensive Bhang (Cannabis) destruction drive in and around the premises of Government Degree College Ganderbal and Qamariya Park.

During the operation, wild cannabis plants found growing in the identified areas were uprooted and destroyed to prevent their misuse and curb the spread of drug abuse in the district. The drive forms part of the authorities’ sustained efforts to eliminate narcotics cultivation and promote a safe, healthy, and drug-free environment, particularly for students and youth.

Officials said the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to combating the menace of drugs at its roots by targeting the cultivation of narcotic plants and raising public awareness about their harmful consequences.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its resolve to continue proactive action against the cultivation, trafficking, and abuse of narcotic substances and urged citizens to actively support the anti-drug campaign by reporting any information related to illegal drug activities to the nearest police station.
