Ganderbal Police Seize 4 Vehicles Involved in Illegal Mining Activities

 

Ganderbal, June 11: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Ganderbal Police seized four vehicles, including three tippers and one tractor, from different areas falling under the jurisdictions of PS Lar, PS Gund, and PP Nagbal.

The vehicles were allegedly engaged in the illegal extraction and transportation of mining material without valid authorization, in violation of established regulations. Acting swiftly, police seized the vehicles on the spot and referred the matter to the concerned Geology and Mining Department for further action.

Following verification, the Geology and Mining Department imposed the requisite penalties under the relevant legal provisions.

Ganderbal Police reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding natural resources and curbing illegal mining activities across the district. The police also appealed to the public to assist law enforcement agencies by reporting any such unlawful practices, warning that strict action will continue against violators.
