ACB Attaches Properties Worth Crores in Disproportionate Assets Case Against Former DC Office Naazir

Srinagar, June 27: The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday attached multiple immovable properties and gold ornaments allegedly acquired through disproportionate assets by Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Firdousabad Batamaloo, Srinagar, who was posted as Naazir in the office of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.

The attached properties include a single-storey residential house with land at Firdousabad Batamaloo, three land parcels at Nambal, Nowgam, registered in the names of the accused, his wife and daughter, besides gold ornaments weighing approximately 1,266 grams seized during the investigation.

The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 09/2025 registered by Police Station ACB Srinagar on May 22, 2025, following a secret verification into allegations that the accused had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

During the investigation, ACB conducted searches at the accused’s residence and recovered copper utensils, gold ornaments and other luxury items, which were seized. The accused was arrested during the investigation and is presently on bail under court orders.

According to the ACB, further investigation revealed that the public servant had accumulated substantial movable and immovable assets beyond his legitimate income. After obtaining approval from the competent authority, two teams headed by DySP-rank officers carried out the attachment proceedings at Batamaloo and Nowgam. Signboards have been installed at the attached properties to inform the public.

The ACB has advised the general public not to purchase, exchange or enter into any transaction involving the attached properties, as the investigation in the case is ongoing.
