Ganderbal, June 27: In preparation for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range (CKR), Shri Rajiv Pande (IPS), on Saturday reviewed the security arrangements at the Joint Police Control Room (JPCR), Baltal.
The review meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Shri Sudhanshu Dhama (IPS), along with senior officers of the Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
During the visit, the DIG took a comprehensive assessment of the overall security preparedness, deployment plans, communication systems, traffic management, and inter-agency coordination to ensure the safe, smooth and peaceful conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
SSP Ganderbal and other senior officers briefed the DIG on the multi-layered security architecture, advance operational planning, and measures being implemented along the Baltal axis for the upcoming Yatra.
Emphasising the need for the highest level of vigilance, DIG Rajiv Pande directed officers to maintain seamless coordination among all stakeholders and ensure robust response mechanisms to effectively address any emerging security challenges. He also instructed the officers to further strengthen area domination, surveillance, route security and pilgrim facilitation measures to ensure a secure and hassle-free Yatra.
