Ganderbal, June 29 (KNZ/TMJ): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday performed the ‘Pratham Puja’ at the Amarnath cave shrine, marking the ceremonial commencement of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 3.
In a post on X, Sinha said he was blessed to perform the traditional ritual at the holy cave and prayed to Baba Barfani for peace, prosperity, good health and well-being of all.
The Lieutenant Governor said that with the pilgrimage set to commence on July 3, the administration, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Army, Police, security forces, local community, service providers and volunteers are working in complete synergy to ensure a safe, hassle-free and memorable pilgrimage for devotees.
He said the authorities have made extensive preparations for the annual Yatra by significantly upgrading infrastructure and enhancing facilities for pilgrims. Sinha also acknowledged the invaluable support extended by the people of Jammu and Kashmir in facilitating the pilgrimage.
Expressing confidence in the overall preparedness, the Lieutenant Governor said all stakeholders are committed to ensuring a spiritually fulfilling and seamless experience for the devotees visiting the Himalayan shrine.
