Srinagar, July 26 (KNZ/TMJ): The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Srinagar, against three persons for their alleged involvement in a fake government recruitment racket.

The chargesheet has been filed in FIR No. 01/2026 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC.

The accused have been identified as Ghulam Mohd Sheikh alias Gulzar, son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh, a resident of Palpora Pamposh Colony, Noor Bagh, Srinagar; Mohd Yousuf Wani, son of Abdul Ahad Wani, a resident of Kunzer, Baramulla; and Mohd Abdullah Mir, son of Abdul Gaffar Mir, a resident of Shivath, Tehsil Sumbal, Sonawari, Bandipora.

According to officials, the case was registered following a written complaint alleging that the prime accused fraudulently collected ₹23 lakh from job aspirants on the false promise of securing government jobs.

During the investigation, EOW found that the accused had allegedly prepared and issued fake appointment orders, identity cards, licences and other forged official documents. They also fabricated Police and CID verification certificates to make the fake appointments appear authentic.

The investigation further revealed that all three accused acted in conspiracy to deceive the complainants and unlawfully obtain their hard-earned money. After gathering sufficient evidence, the Crime Branch filed the chargesheet before the competent court for trial.

The Crime Branch has urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent job offers and advised victims of economic fraud to report such cases to the SSP, EOW Kashmir, Crime Branch J&K, or through the official complaint email.(KNZ/TMJ)
