Ganderbal Police Seize Four Tippers in Crackdown on Illegal Mining

 

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 20 (KNZ): Continuing its sustained crackdown against illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, Ganderbal Police seized four tippers allegedly involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of mining material in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kheerbawani.

 

According to police, the vehicles were found extracting and transporting minor minerals without valid authorization, in violation of prescribed rules and regulations.

 

The vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was subsequently taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department. The department imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law.

 

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to curbing illegal mining and protecting the district’s natural resources. Police also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any such unlawful activities.

 

Strict action will continue against individuals found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals.
