Ganderbal, Sep 7(KNZ/TMJ): The bodies of two teenagers, a boy and a girl, were recovered from a power canal in Thune area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday, officials said.

According to officials, the two teenagers were reportedly seen entering the power canal earlier in the day, following which a search operation was launched by police and rescue personnel.

The search teams conducted an operation in and around the canal and subsequently recovered both bodies. The deceased were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The identities of both teenagers have been withheld to protect their privacy.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known. Police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the sequence of events and determine the circumstances leading to the incident.(KNZ/TMJ)
