Two Bodies Recovered From Power Canal in Ganderbal’s Thune

Ganderbal, Sep 7(KNZ/TMJ): The bodies of a male and a female were recovered from a power canal in Thune area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday, officials said.

The male was identified as Irshad Ahmad Kahi, son of Mohammad Sharif Kahi, a resident of Thune. The identity of the female has been withheld to protect her privacy.

According to preliminary information, the two were reportedly seen entering the power canal earlier in the day, following which police and rescue personnel launched a search operation in the area.

After searches in and around the canal, both bodies were recovered and shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The circumstances leading to the incident were not immediately known. Police have initiated proceedings and are investigating the matter.(KNZ/TMJ)
