Don’t Sell Cigarettes Near Schools, Colleges: Ganderbal Police on Watch

Ganderbal, Sept 9(KNZ/TMJ): Ganderbal Police on Wednesday conducted an enforcement drive against the sale of cigarettes near an educational institution in the district, during which cigarette packets were seized from shops.

 

The drive was led by DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Dr Urfaan, accompanied by SHO Ganderbal Waseem Gull and other police personnel.

 

During the operation, police conducted raids at several shops in the vicinity of the college and seized cigarettes being sold there.

 

The shopkeepers were also directed to refrain from selling cigarettes and other tobacco products near the college and strictly comply with the applicable restrictions.

 

Police said the drive was aimed at curbing tobacco use among students and preventing the sale of tobacco products in the vicinity of educational institutions.

 

The authorities warned that violations would invite action under the relevant provisions of law and said such enforcement drives would continue.(KNZ/TMJ)
