Ganderbal, September 29: The Jammu & Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (JKEJAC) and Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), District Ganderbal, have extended their warm congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers of the Ganderbal Press Association (GPA).

The organisations congratulated Ayaz Sofi on his re-election as President, Shah Basit as Vice President, Hadi Hidayat as General Secretary, Arif Kassana as Treasurer and Aqib Rasool as Spokesperson.

In their message, JKEJAC and JKTF expressed confidence that the newly elected team would uphold the values of responsible journalism and work with dedication, integrity and impartiality in highlighting issues concerning the public.

They said the media plays an important role in strengthening democracy by bringing public grievances to the attention of the authorities, promoting transparency and creating awareness about government schemes, public services and developmental initiatives.

The organisations particularly hoped that the new GPA team would highlight key issues concerning Ganderbal, including education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure and other civic matters, while maintaining professional and ethical standards.

They also stressed the importance of promoting social harmony, civic awareness and constructive public discourse, describing a responsible and people-oriented press as an important contributor to positive change in society.

JKEJAC and JKTF, District Ganderbal, once again conveyed their best wishes to the newly elected office-bearers and expressed hope that the new team would contribute towards strengthening unity, credibility and meaningful journalism in the district.
