Awantipora 10 Oct:Shri Irshad Hussain Rather-JKPS today assumed charge as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Police District Awantipora. Upon his arrival at the District Police Headquarters, he was warmly received by senior police officers. A Guard of Honour was presented to mark the occasion.

After assuming charge, SSP Awantipora held an introductory meeting with senior police officers of the district, during which he emphasised the need for dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm in discharging official duties. He stressed that the primary objective of the police force must remain the effective redressal of public grievances and addressing the problems faced by the people of Police District Awantipora.

He further underscored the importance of teamwork, coordination, and a people centric approach to policing. The officers were directed to remain accessible to the general public, keep their doors open to citizens, and ensure prompt and effective resolution of public grievances.

Also emphasised the need to intensify efforts against drug trafficking and other criminal activities, maintain heightened vigilance, and adopt a proactive approach to addressing emerging challenges. He urged all officers to work with a renewed sense of responsibility and commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of the public.

SSP Awantipora reiterated that the welfare of the people, protection of life and property, and maintenance of peace and tranquillity would remain the foremost priorities of Police District Awantipora. He reaffirmed the commitment of Awantipora Police to transparent, responsive, and people friendly policing, with a focus on strengthening public trust and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
