Srinagar, Aug 16: Commissioner SMC Dr Shafqat Khan today conducted meeting with the Municipal Veterinary staff which aimed at banning slaughtering of poultry/ small animals on road side spaces in the Srinagar city.
The veterinary wing has been directed to serve notices to all the poultry dealers/vendors/outlets/ within the city limits to restrain from throwing waste/ leftover material(visceral organs, legs, blood etc)in an open spaces/road side and drains of the Srinagar city, which leads to choking of drains, creates insanitary conditions and unhygienic environment.
“Such illegal trade practice is banned under section 318,322,324 of Municipal Corporation Act 2000. All such outlets will be sealed down and a legal action will be initiated against such defaulters under law,” Commissioner SMC, Dr Shafkat Khan said. (KNS)
