One accused arrested, hunt for other two accused on
Kulgam, 06 July, CNS: Accusing her three teachers of gang-raping her, a 17 year girl from Damhaal Hanjipora, in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, has alleged that she was raped by the trio on Saturday late evening.
According to CNS reporter, the said girl (name withheld) from Chechmulla in Damhaal Hanjipora, Kulgam approached the local police station with a written complaint, accusing the trio of gang-raping her, after they lured her into a nearby orchard on Saturday at 7.30 in the evening.
She identified the accused as Hilal Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar a resident of same Chechmulla village, Nazir Ahmed Shah son of Mohi u Din Shah and Amir Farooq Wani, both residents of Gandwani village in Kulgam.
A police official told CNS that the girl in her statement said that main accused Hilal Ahmed Dar came near her home on late Saturday evening at about 7.30 P.M and lured her into a nearby orchard, where after drugging her, he along with two other accused forcibly raped her.
While confirming the arrest of government Hilal Ahmed Dar, the main accused, SHO Police Station Damhaal Hanjipora told CNS that on the basis of the complaint filed by the alleged victim an FIR was lodged in the Police Station, against accused under number 190/2020 under sections 366 and 376 D and the girl has been sent for medical examination.
He said the hunt for other two accused is on, who are also said to be government teachers, posted at the school, where the girl is pursuing her studies.
Meanwhile, BMO Damhaal Hanjipora Dr. Shugufta said that the medical examination of the girl has been conducted and the report has been submitted to the police.
Reports from the area said that the locals of Chechmulla village of Damhaal Hanjipora staged a protest demanding the arrest of the remaining two at large culprits and stringent punishment for all the accused. (CNS)
