Ganderbal, Oct 03 (KNZ):Ganderbal Police foiled yet another smuggling bid after recieving credible inputs about dumping of huge consignment of medicinal plants in a godown located in main town Kangan.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar, IPS, a team headed by SHO Police Station Kangan under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS was constituted.
The team raided the godown and recovered huge consignment of forest produce containing medicinal plants weighing about 1102 kilograms from there.
Consignment were instantly seized by the Police team and 05 accused persons namely Javaid Ahmad Wani S/O Mohammad Yousuf Wani R/O Kangan, Mohammad Aslam Kataria S/O Sawaria Kataria R/O Chattergul, Showkat Ahmad Badana S/O Bashir Ahmad Badana R/O Chattergul, Mohammad Ishfaq Khatana S/O Ghulam Nabi Khatana R/O Chattergul and Ghulam Nabi Khatana S/O Mehendia Khatana R/O Godhad Rajouri were arrested.
In this regard case FIR No. 111/2021 U/S 379 IPC 26 Forest Act stands registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation taken up.KNZ
