Condolences pour in; Cremation to be held tomorrow at 3 PM in Karanagar, says his son Lennin Kundo

Srinagar, Jul 01 (KNO): A prominent trade union leader, Sampath Prakash, died due to a sudden heart attack on Saturday. He was 85.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), his son Lennin Kundo said that Prakash was having lunch during the day when he suddenly fell unconscious.

He was immediately shifted to the hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead on arrival, Kundo said.

“He had been in Srinagar for the last four months and passed away here,” he added. “We have planned to hold his cremation tomorrow at 3 PM at Karanagar, Srinagar, and I am also on my way from Jammu.”

Meanwhile, a top official from SKIMS, Soura, told KNO that the elderly trade union leader was brought dead to the hospital, and the body has been kept in the mortuary here.

The news of Prakash’s death has sent shockwaves across, leaving colleagues and friends devastated.

Notably, Sampath Prakash was also known for his controversial statements and his contribution speech about “Khuftan Fakirs” and other famous personalities of the 90s era.

Meanwhile, his death was condoled widely by prominent leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, including Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omer Abdullah, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami and others—(KNO)
