Srinagar, Mar 17 (KS): Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended two persons accused of stealing a multi-strand cable worth over a lac in Nagrota, just hours after the misdemeanour was reported by a PHE department official.
An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a written complaint was received from PHE department through JE Nagrota Sunil Verma in Police Station Nagrota at around 1500 hours regarding theft of a multi-strand cable of size 50mm around 96 m +35 m from filtration plant Nagrota which cost around 1.50 lac, by some miscreants during intervening night of 16/17 March 2024.
“Taking cognisance of the matter, the police registered a case vide FIR No. 92/2024 U/S 379 IPC, followed by a swift investigation,” the official said.
“Within 4 hours, the accused persons namely Krishna Kumar son of Ashok Kumar of Old camp Nagrota and Vishal Kumar son of Prem Nath of Camp Nagrota were arrested and stolen property recovered from them,” the official said.
“People have highly appreciated the prompt action by Jammu Police,” the official added. (KS)
