Baramulla’s Sporting Spirit soars on Day three of Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 19: The 3rd day of the Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions/Selection Trials continued with great enthusiasm across various sporting venues in Baramulla, organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Baramulla.

The Cricket Selection Trials for Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 Girls were conducted at Showkat Ali Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, witnessing the participation of hundreds of young girls displaying their talent and competitive spirit.

Meanwhile, the Taekwondo Selection Trials for Under-19 Boys were held at the Indoor Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, with over 50 participants showcasing their skills, discipline and sporting prowess. The Under-14 and Under-17 Girls’ competition was organised at Bipin Rawat Indoor Stadium, Baramulla, where more than 50 students enthusiastically participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, DYSSO Baramulla, said that such competitions provide young sportspersons with a valuable platform to showcase their talent, gain competitive exposure and strive for higher-level representation. He appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants and the dedicated efforts of the field staff in ensuring the smooth conduct of the events.

The Department reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality sporting opportunities to students and nurturing young talent at the grassroots level.
