Rajouri, July 1(GNS): Operation Sheruwali entered its 40th day on Wednesday, with security forces continuing a large-scale search operation in the forested areas of Dorimal in the Gambir Mughlan Manjakote sector of Rajouri district.
Troops remain actively engaged in the operation to track down terrorists believed to be hiding in the dense terrain. Search and surveillance operations are continuing across the designated areas with the support of advanced equipment and coordinated ground operations, officials told GNS.
The operation, one of the longest in the region in recent months, was launched after intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the upper reaches of Rajouri.
No fresh contact with terrorists has been reported so far. Security forces are maintaining a tight cordon and combing the forest stretches to prevent any escape, officials added.(GNS)
