Five Injured After Vehicle Hits Electric Pole at Hayan Bridge in Ganderbal

All five occupants, including a 10-year-old boy, were referred to SKIMS Soura after initial treatment at SDH Kangan.

 

Ganderbal, July 31(KNZ/TMJ): Five persons, including a 10-year-old boy, were injured after a Xylo vehicle collided with an electric pole at Hayan Bridge in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.

 

An official told Kashmir News Zone – The Media Journal that the Xylo vehicle, bearing registration number JK10-5974, reportedly lost control and rammed into a roadside electric pole at Hayan Bridge, leaving all five occupants injured.

 

The injured were identified as Ashgar Ali (27), son of Mohammad Hassan Ali and a resident of Kargil, who was driving the vehicle; Hassan Askri, son of Ghulam Hussain; Junaid Iqbal; Liyaqat Ali, son of Ghulam Abbas; and 10-year-old Mohd Danish, son of Abdul Bari, all residents of Leh.

 

The injured were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Kangan, where they received initial medical treatment. However, considering the nature of their injuries, doctors referred all five to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, for specialised treatment.

 

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.(KNZ/TMJ)
