Ganderbal Police conducts wild bhang destruction drive in Shadipora

Ganderbal, June 7 (KNZ/TMJ): As part of the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan’, Ganderbal Police along with civil society members of GundRoshan carried out a wild bhang destruction drive in the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora on Sunday, officials said.

The drive was launched to eradicate the illegal cultivation of wild cannabis (bhang) and to curb the menace of drug abuse in the area, they said.

During the operation, large quantities of wild bhang plants growing in vulnerable locations were identified and destroyed, officials said.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to creating a drug-free society and appealed to the public to support anti-narcotics initiatives by sharing information related to drug cultivation and trafficking.

Officials said joint efforts by police and civil society are crucial for safeguarding the youth and strengthening the fight against substance abuse.
