Ganderbal, October 9 (KNZ):In a continued effort to curb illegal mining activities in the district, Ganderbal Police, in coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, carried out a successful operation today, seizing four vehicles involved in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minor minerals.
During the operation, (03 Tippers) and (01 Tractor) — bearing registration numbers JK02F/3654, JK02W/9240, JK04/6997, and JK16/3011 respectively — were intercepted within the jurisdictions of Police Station Lar, Police Station Safapora, and Police Post Shadipora. These vehicles were found illegally loaded with minerals extracted from Nallah Sindh.
The proactive action reflects the firm resolve of District Police Ganderbal and the Geology & Mining Department to safeguard natural resources and prevent environmental degradation caused by illicit mining activities.
Authorities reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in such practices and urged the public to assist law enforcement by reporting any instances of illegal extraction or transportation of minerals in their areas.
Ganderbal Police has assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential while reaffirming its commitment to maintaining ecological balance and upholding the law.KNZ
