Ganderbal, May 31 (KNZ/TMJ): Ganderbal Police have issued a public advisory urging residents, tourists and visitors to stay away from Nallah Sindh following a sharp rise in water levels and strong currents that have heightened the risk of accidents.
Officials said the fast-flowing waters pose a serious threat to public safety, particularly at vulnerable spots along the riverbanks. People have been advised not to venture close to the nallah or engage in recreational activities near the water.
As part of the safety drive, police have installed safety and awareness banners at several locations along Nallah Sindh to alert the public about the dangers posed by the swollen stream. In addition, police personnel have been deployed at sensitive points to monitor the situation and prevent risky behaviour.
The advisory also urged parents to ensure that children do not play near the riverbanks, where strong currents could prove hazardous.
Ganderbal Police appealed to the public to strictly adhere to safety instructions and cooperate with authorities to avoid any untoward incidents. They also called upon local residents to spread awareness about the risks associated with rising water levels and exercise extreme caution near the waterbody.(KNZ/TMJ)
