Ganderbal Police Seize Four Vehicles for Illegal Mining, Transportation of Minor Minerals

 

Ganderbal, July 4: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining activities, Ganderbal Police on Saturday seized four vehicles involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals in different parts of the district.

The seized vehicles include two Tata Mobile vehicles and two tippers, which were intercepted within the jurisdictions of Police Station Safapora, Police Station Kheerbawani, and Police Post Shadipora.

According to police, the vehicles were found extracting and transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed rules. The vehicles were seized on the spot, and the matter was referred to the concerned Geology and Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite penalty under the relevant provisions of law.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to curbing illegal mining and protecting natural resources, while urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting such unlawful activities. Police said strict action against violators will continue in the district.
