GANDERBAL, AUGUST 10: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, Ganderbal Police seized eight vehicles, including two tippers, three tractors and three dumpers, for alleged illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals.
The vehicles were seized from the jurisdictions of Police Stations Ganderbal, Kangan, Kheerbawani and Safapora after they were found operating without valid authorization and in violation of prescribed mining norms.
The matter was subsequently taken up with the Geology & Mining Department, which imposed the requisite fines under relevant provisions of law.
Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to curbing illegal mining and protecting natural resources, warning that strict action will continue against those involved in such activities.
