IGP Kashmir Reviews Multi-Layer Security Arrangements in Ganderbal Ahead of Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026

 

Ganderbal June 30 : In view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, IGP Kashmir Shri V.K. Birdi, IPS, on Tuesday carried out a comprehensive on-ground review of the security arrangements and deployment plan in Ganderbal district to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

 

The IGP was accompanied by DIG Central Kashmir Range, DIG North Kashmir Range, SSP Srinagar, SSP Ganderbal, SSP Bandipora, SP Operations Srinagar, and other senior officers from the Police and Civil Administration.

 

During the visit, Shri Birdi inspected the Transit Camp at Manigam and reviewed the facilities and arrangements being put in place for the seamless, secure, and hassle-free movement of pilgrims.

 

He also assessed the deployment of the Police, CAPFs, and other security agencies at key locations along the Yatra route, stressing effective coordination and operational readiness to ensure a peaceful and incident-free pilgrimage.
