Inspection drive in Ganderbal leads to closure of two medical shops

Ganderbal 6 may: An inspection drive in the Kullan and Sonamarg areas of Ganderbal district has led to the closure of two medical shops for violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, officials said.

The drive was conducted under the aegis of NMBA@100 by the Drug Control Department in coordination with the police, an official told Kashmir News Zone.

A total of 11 medical shops were inspected during the exercise to assess compliance with regulatory norms.

Two shops were found to be in violation of prescribed rules and were closed on the spot, officials said.

An awareness programme was also held alongside the inspections, during which chemists were briefed on compliance requirements, record maintenance and responsible dispensing practices.

Officials said the programme also focused on the objectives of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan and highlighted the importance of proper disposal of biomedical waste as per established guidelines.
