Srinagar, May 11(KNZ): The Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department has made Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance mandatory in all its offices across Kashmir, according to an official circular.
The circular, issued by the Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Kashmir, directed all subordinate offices to immediately install and operationalise the L1 RD Aadhaar-Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).
The order said the move has been taken in compliance with directions issued by the Administrative Department through a communication dated July 24, 2024.
“The L1 RD system will serve as the primary method for recording daily attendance and manual attendance records will no longer be accepted,” the circular said.
It added that the upgraded system includes advanced hardware-level encryption and enhanced security features in line with UIDAI security protocols to ensure the integrity of biometric data.
The circular further stated that Conservators of Forests (CFs) and Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) would be responsible for ensuring that attendance of officials is marked daily through the designated biometric devices.(knz)
