Srinagar May 22(KNZ/TMJ) :An awareness programme on segregation and scientific management of waste was conducted at Blue Bell High School by the Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee in line with directions of the Supreme Court.
An official told Kashmir News Zone – the media journal that the initiative aimed to sensitise students and staff about proper waste segregation at source, reduction of plastic use, recycling practices, and environmentally safe disposal methods.
During the session, participants were informed about segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and the importance of scientific waste management systems. The role of citizens in maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment was also highlighted.
The programme sought to promote eco-friendly habits among students and encourage sustainable environmental practices in everyday life.(KNZ-TMJ)
