JKSA Coordinator Visits HSS Chandosa; Raises Staff Shortage Concerns with School Administration

Srinagar:Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) today visited Higher Secondary School (HSS) Chandosa in Baramulla district to assess concerns related to staff shortages and engage with the school administration on measures to strengthen the institution’s academic functioning.

The visit was led by JKSA Baramulla District Coordinator, Showket Ahmad, following several representations received from students, parents, and local residents regarding the absence of a Computer Applications teacher and an acute shortage of teaching staff, particularly female faculty members. The concerns had raised apprehensions about the quality of education and the overall academic environment at the institution.

During the visit, Mr. Ahmad interacted with the school administration, teaching staff, and students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges being faced by the institution. It was confirmed that a Computer Applications teacher has now been officially appointed to the school, addressing one of the major grievances raised by students and ensuring that their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) studies are no longer disrupted.

Subsequently, the JKSA District Coordinator held a detailed meeting with the Principal of HSS Chandosa, during which he highlighted the urgent need to strengthen the school’s teaching workforce and ensure a more balanced faculty composition. Particular emphasis was laid on the deployment of additional female teachers, considering the growing number of girl students enrolled in the institution and the important role female educators play in fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

The Principal acknowledged the concerns raised by the JKSA delegation and assured that the matter has already been taken up with the relevant authorities. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to addressing staffing deficiencies and stated that every possible effort would be made to facilitate the posting of additional teaching staff, including female faculty members, at the earliest.

The Principal further assured that the school administration remains committed to safeguarding the academic interests of students and that no student’s education, academic progress, or future prospects would be allowed to suffer due to administrative or staffing constraints.

Speaking on the occasion, Showket said that; Education remains one of the most powerful tools for social and economic empowerment. While we welcome the appointment of a Computer Applications teacher at HSS Chandosa, there is still a pressing need to strengthen the overall staff structure of the institution. JKSA will continue to engage constructively with the concerned authorities to ensure that students studying in rural and far-flung areas receive the quality education, academic support, and learning environment they rightfully deserve.”

He further emphasized that equitable access to quality education must remain a priority and that educational institutions in rural areas should not be disadvantaged due to inadequate staffing or infrastructural limitations.
