M.K. Sinha, IPS Takes Charge as New ADG CID J&K, Nitish Kumar Transferred as ADG Armed Police

 

Srinagar, August 28, 2026: M.K. Sinha, IPS, has assumed charge as the new Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Crime Investigation Department (CID), Jammu & Kashmir, succeeding Nitish Kumar, IPS, who has been transferred as ADG Armed Police J&K.

 

Soon after assuming charge, M.K. Sinha chaired a meeting with senior officers of CID J&K and reviewed the overall functioning of the department, with particular focus on the intelligence wing and its operational activities.

 

M.K. Sinha, a 1996-batch IPS officer, was previously serving as ADG (Headquarters), Police Headquarters, J&K. Nitish Kumar, a 1999-batch IPS officer, was serving as ADG CID/Director SIA J&K before his new assignment.

 

Senior officers of CID Headquarters welcomed the new ADG and assured him of their full cooperation, dedication and commitment in carrying out the responsibilities of the department.

 

The officers also extended their best wishes to Nitish Kumar for a successful tenure in his new assignment as ADG Armed Police J&K.
