Srinagar Sep 2 :Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest late last night to prevent him from leading Eid congregation at Eidgah.

However, Mirwaiz addressed the faithful who had arrived at the Eidgah for prayers over phone.
