GANDERBAL, May 24:(KNC)Paddy sowing activities have gathered momentum across several villages of Ganderbal district, with farmers actively engaged in cultivation work during the ongoing agricultural season.
Several areas including Tullamulla, Nagbal, Check Duderhama, Fathipora, Kachan, Darend and Sandbal are witnessing intense farming activity as cultivators remain busy preparing agricultural land and transplanting paddy saplings.
From early morning till late evening, farmers can be seen working tirelessly in waterlogged paddy fields to ensure the timely completion of the sowing process. The arrival of the paddy season has brought renewed activity and energy to the agricultural landscape across the district.
Locals said that agriculture continues to be the backbone of the rural economy in Ganderbal, providing livelihood to a large section of the population. They added that paddy remains one of the most important and widely cultivated crops in Kashmir.
Farmers have appealed to the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted irrigation facilities and favourable weather conditions for a successful harvest this year.
The farming community expressed hope for a productive cultivation season, saying that a good paddy crop would significantly support the local economy and sustain thousands of families dependent on agriculture.(KNC)
