Legal Metrology Department Ganderbal imposes fine of Rs.40K on Petrol Pumps for short delivery in Ganderbal

Ganderbal 22 July (KNZ):After insistant complaints a team of Legal Metrology Department Ganderbal under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Tariq Ahmad along with other staff today conducted a surprise inspection of three petrol pumps namely MS Filling station, Sindh Filling station and Firishta Filling station at wussan and baroosa in Ganderbal District.

During the inspection, it was found that MS Filling station wussan and Firishta Filling station baroosa owners with the connivance of his manager was delivering less petrol in every five litre to the customers.The team imposed a fine of Rs.40,000 on the said petrol pump owners.

The petrol pump owners of the district have been asked to conduct routine delivery check of their retail outlets using a 5 liter capacity measure duly verified by the Department.

Assistant controller Legal Metrology Tariq Ahmad said in case any error is observed in fuel delivery, sale of fuel needs to be stopped and same needs to be brought in the notice of the concerned inspector of the Department for re-calibration of the dispensing units.KNZ
