Prime Minister to disburse ₹2,000 crore as incentives under Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana in New Delhi on 19th June

 

New Delhi, 18 June 2026:In a major step towards strengthening employment generation and accelerating India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will disburse incentives amounting to ₹2,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at a special event to be held in New Delhi, on 19 June 2026. This incentive has supported 15 Lakh employments across the country.

 

The event will be attended by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, and Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Labour & Employment and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, along with beneficiary employees and employers, senior government officials, representatives of industry and workers’ organizations.

 

The programme marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the PM-VBRY, a flagship employment-linked incentive initiative of the Government of India designed to catalyse job creation, enhance employability, promote formalisation of employment and expand social security coverage across sectors. Under the scheme, first-time employees are eligible for an incentive of up to ₹15,000, while employers creating additional employment are eligible for incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month per additional employee. The employers of manufacturing sector will be incentivised for four years while those in all other sectors will receive the incentive for 2 years. The scheme seeks to encourage formal employment while supporting both workers and employers.

 

PM-VBRY represents the Government’s commitment to creating an enabling ecosystem for employment-led growth. With incentives for both first-time employees and employers, the scheme is designed to facilitating the creation of quality formal employment opportunities.

 

PM-VBRY, under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, came into effect from 1st August 2025. With an outlay of Rs 99,446 Crore, the PM-VBRY aims to incentivize the creation of more than 3.5 Crore jobs in the country, over a period of 2 years. Out of these, 1.92 Crore beneficiaries will be first timers, entering the workforce. The benefits of the Scheme would be applicable to jobs created between 01st August 2025 and 31st July 2027.
