“‘Project Karmaveer’ to Provide Livelihood to Martyrs’ Widows, Former Personnel”: HM Amit Shah

New Delhi, Oct 22 (JKNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the launch of ‘Project Karmaveer’ to provide livelihood opportunities to the families of police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, as well as former personnel.

In a post on X on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day as per news agency JKNS, HM Shah said the initiative would enable the brave widows of martyrs and former personnel to operate 400 Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the country.

He said police personnel and CAPF jawans were true karmaveers who placed duty above everything else, even at the cost of their lives, adding that the project was being launched in their honour.

Through these centres, the beneficiaries will provide services related to pensions, banking and other citizen services, enabling them to earn a respectable livelihood.

Shah said the initiative was aimed at honouring the sacrifices of police personnel and CAPF jawans while supporting their families and former colleagues through sustainable livelihood opportunities. (JKNS)
