Shutdown continues in Sopore, Hajin on second straight day against militant killings

Sopore Aug 7 :Life remained affected due to a shutdown in Sopore and Hajin areas of north Kashmir on the second consecutive day today to mourn the death of three militants in a gunfight with forces.

All shops and other business establishments are closed while skeletal movement of public transport was witnessed in both the towns.

Three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants – identified as Javid Ahmad Dar of Khanpora Baramulla, Aabid Hamid Mir of Hajin Bandipora and Danish Showkat Dar of Batpora Sopore were killed in a firefight with forces in Amargah area of Sopore on Saturday morning.
