Srinagar, September 10:(GNS):In a major citizen-friendly initiative, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has introduced a 24×7 online waste bin booking service for the residents of Srinagar city.

Under the new facility, as per GNS, residents, commercial establishments and event organizers can now book SMC waste bins online at any time for disposal of bulk waste, especially during functions, construction work and cleaning drives.

According to SMC, the booking charge has been fixed at Rs 2,000 per day per bin.

The service aims to ensure efficient waste collection, prevent littering on roads and promote cleanliness across the city. Citizens can avail the service through the SMC online portal without having to visit the offices physically.

Officials said the initiative is part of SMC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the sanitation system and make Srinagar cleaner and more sustainable.(GNS)
