Sports Beat Drugs: Ganderbal Police Inspires Youth with Football Tournament

Ganderbal August 21:As part of its Civic Action Program, Ganderbal Police today organised a Football Tournament at Hyderia Sports Ground, Tulmulla, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from various football teams and clubs across the district.

The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS) in the presence of senior police officers and a large gathering of spectators. The event received an overwhelming response from district players, with participating teams expressing their gratitude to Ganderbal Police for promoting sports and youth engagement.

In his inaugural address, SSP Poswal encouraged budding players to explore their potential through sports, uphold discipline, and display true sportsmanship. He wished success to all teams and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in channelising youth energy towards positive activities.

The opening match was played between FC Nunner and FC Shalbugh, in which FC Shalbugh emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline.

It is worth mentioning that Ganderbal Police regularly organises sports events including football, cricket, volleyball, cultural, and co-curricular activities under its Civic Action Program. The primary aim of these initiatives is to foster brotherhood, love, and peace while steering the youth away from the menace of drug addiction.

The event was also attended by DySP DAR Shri Nazir Ahmad, other senior officers, and a large number of sports enthusiasts, who witnessed the matches with great zeal and excitement.
