SSP Anantnag reviews Railway Security ahead of SANJY-2026

 

Anantnag June 29: As part of the comprehensive security preparations for SANJY-2026, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, chaired a high-level security review meeting at Railway Station Harnag with officers of District Police, CAPF, Railway Police and other security agencies.

 

The meeting focused on reviewing the security architecture and ensuring seamless coordination among all stakeholders for the safe and secure movement of pilgrims and the smooth conduct of railway operations during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. During the meeting, SSP Anantnag emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination, robust access control, round-the-clock surveillance, anti-sabotage measures, intelligence sharing, and effective deployment of security personnel at the railway station and adjoining areas. He directed all officers to maintain heightened alertness, adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure prompt response mechanisms for any contingency.

 

The SSP also reviewed the deployment plan, CCTV surveillance coverage, baggage screening arrangements, frisking procedures, emergency response preparedness, traffic regulation around the railway station, and passenger facilitation measures. He stressed the need for regular joint drills, close liaison among Police, CAPF, Railway Police, and civil administration, and continuous monitoring of vulnerable points. Following the meeting, SSP Anantnag conducted a detailed inspection of the railway station premises, security installations, entry and exit points, CCTV control systems, and passenger amenities. He interacted with officers on the ground and issued necessary directions to further strengthen the overall security grid.

 

The officers present reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring foolproof security arrangements and seamless coordination for the peaceful, safe, and successful conduct of SANJY-2026.
