Stresses Vigilance, Inter-Agency Coordination and Public Safety; Urges Residents to Follow Official Advisories

Srinagar, July 12 (KNC): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS) on Sunday visited the cloudburst-affected Awoora Nallah area of Pahalgam to review the ground situation after a devastating cloudburst triggered flash floods, causing extensive damage to residential houses, commercial establishments and other properties.

During the visit, the SSP conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the affected area and took stock of the overall situation. He was briefed by police officers and officials regarding the extent of damage caused by the flash floods and the prevailing conditions in the area.

Interacting with local residents, SSP Nagpure assured them of all possible assistance from the police and directed police personnel to remain on high alert, maintain a strong presence in the affected area and ensure close coordination with the district administration and other concerned departments for effective response and relief measures.

The SSP stressed the importance of continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations and instructed officers to remain fully prepared to respond swiftly to any emergency situation. He also appealed to the public to exercise caution, avoid venturing into vulnerable areas and strictly follow advisories issued by the authorities in view of the prevailing weather conditions.

Reaffirming the commitment of Anantnag Police towards public welfare, SSP Nagpure said the police will continue to work in close coordination with all stakeholder agencies to ensure the safety of residents and extend every possible assistance during the ongoing emergency.(KNC)
